Guitar Repair and Construction Program – Expenses
Tuition
34 credits of technical courses and 5 credits of general education credits are required to complete the Diploma in Musical String Instrument Repair - Guitar. You may be able to transfer in general education credits from another college or test out of some general education courses.
MN, WI, IA, ND, & Manitoba: $138.14/credit; approximately $5400
MI, MO, & NE: $207.21/credit; approx. $8100
All others: $276.28/credit; approx. $10,775

Tools and Materials
The cost of required tools will range between $1500 and $2000, and additional materials and parts for building an acoustic guitar will range between $250 and $600. It is not necessary to spend more than the minimum to build a very high qualit,y excellent sounding instrument!
