Band Instrument Repair Program - Tools

Most tools and supplies used in band instrument repair come from vendors that specialize in the tools of the trade. Many of these tools are specific to particular instruments. We also use tools from hardware and automotive supply stores as well as jewelry repair and machine tool suppliers. Students purchase their own collection of hand toos, supplies, adhesives and the like, creating a tool kit which they will use throughout their careers.

However, many larger tools and implements are owned by repair shops, such as steel balls and rods, bench motors, drill presses, sanders and grinders into their repair processes. More and more shops are utilizing metal lathes as well.
